How it works

Crane Operator for Hire

An operator arrives knowing the crane class, the pick weight and the radius before the first lift, and works to the lift plan agreed with the site supervisor.

Operator-only hire for mobile cranes, boom trucks and self-erecting tower cranes. We supply the person to run the machine you already have on site, or pair an operator with a crane from our own fleet.

A crane on site without a qualified operator stalls the whole crew. Contractors across Ontario book an operator when their own staff are tied up on another job, when the crane class is unfamiliar, or when the lift needs a second set of eyes on the load chart.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The operator runs the crane you have on site — setting up on outriggers, reading the load chart and making the picks with your rigger. They do not supply the crane unless you ask for that separately.
We need the crane make and class, the heaviest pick weight, the radius at that pick and the site address. With those four details we can match an operator who has run that class before.
Yes. Operator-only hire is common for contractors who own a crane but do not have a qualified person available for a particular lift day.
A rigger can be added to the booking when the lift needs one. On many picks the site crew's own rigger works alongside our operator.
The earlier the better, especially for a full shift. Short-notice requests are handled when an operator with the right class is available.
The operator stops and re-checks the load chart before continuing. Any change to weight or radius is confirmed with the site supervisor first.
